Regular physical exercise is fun and healthy and becoming more active is very safe for most people. The purpose of this document is to make you aware of the potential risks connected with taking on a new activity and to help you make an informed decision as to whether or not you should participate.

Please consider if you have any medical conditions, discomfort or injury which may be affected by physical activity, such as a heart condition, angina, high/low blood pressure, dizziness, stroke, epilepsy, diabetes, asthma, pregnancy, an operation within the last 12 months, osteoporosis, back injury, arthritic joints, or joint replacement.

Your teacher is not a medical practitioner and cannot advise whether any condition could be adversely affected by attending this class. However, they reserve the right to suggest you do not participate in activity until discussion with a medical practitioner has taken place and that, in some cases, a letter confirming fitness to participate could be required.

The responsibility lies with each participant to decide whether they wish to join or continue with a class, assisted by any medical advice they may wish to obtain. However, if you feel at all unwell, please do not come to class.

Injuries of all types can occur when participating in exercise programmes, by reading this document and choosing to attend a class, you fully assume the risk of any resulting injury. Such injuries include but are not limited to: • Bruising, cuts and general soreness • Muscle and tendon injuries • Ligament and skeletal injuries • Fractured or broken bones • Concussions • Heart attack

We disclaim any liability for incidental or consequential damages and assume no liability or responsibility for any loss, injury or damage suffered by any participant as a result of the use or misuse of any information we provide.

We reserve the right to refuse admission and/or remove participants from the class for any reason, including behaviour likely to cause damage, injury, nuisance or annoyance, or for failure to comply with the reasonable requests of the teacher.

We are not responsible for any loss, injury or damage, however caused, to yourself or any third party, your property or clothing. Anyone deemed to be a danger to themselves or others as a result of excessive alcohol consumption or illegal substance will be refused access to the class and surrounding areas and no refunds will be offered.

We can accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to items which you may bring with you to classes or which are left behind at the venue. We strongly recommend that valuable items, such as phones, wallets and purses are kept within your line of sight.

Please note that no liability is accepted for any loss of or damage to motor vehicles or their contents and these are left at the owner’s risk.
